NCsoft is bringing back one of the most popular in-game events that City of Heroes and City of Villains has ever seen: The Double XP Weekend. German based publisher dtp entertainment and Hamburg development studio 49Games announced their cooperation today, where dtp will be responsible for the worldwide publishing, marketing, and distribution of one of the upcoming game productions by 49Games.

THQ announced results for fiscal Q3 2008, with net sales of $509.6 million, compared to last year's $475.7 million, driven by Cars: Mater-National, MX vs. ATV Untamed and SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. In the subsequent investors conference call, THQ CEO Brian Farrell revealed that Red Faction III is being developed by Volition for PS3, X360 and PC. Scheduled for fiscal 2009 (Apr. 2008 - Mar. 2009), RF3 will focus on interactive environments and destruction. First details on THQ's UFC-licensed title are expected during a pay-per-view event on Memorial Day weekend.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is an Online Action RPG, mixing a deep, story-driven single-player experience and a massive and brutal multiplayer end-game brings forth the ultimate representation of the Age of Conan. Having received its rating, the North American version will not have nipples, while the German edition has full gore, but will not have decapitation, dismemberment, and over-the-top type fatalities. Everywhere else in Europe the game is un-censored.

UPDATE: Debunking her own previous statement, Funcom community manager Shannon Drake now claims the North American edition will not be censored, nipples included.

Crystal Dynamics has made Tomb Raider Underworld more realistic with fluid movements due to motion capturing. Set a few years after the last game, it also features persistent destruction and lush locales across the globe. Lara gets muddy in the game, but with the weather system, rain will wash it away.

Guitar Rising is a music video game where the player plays a real guitar as cued by the game’s visuals. Following rock music sequences and streaming notes, players play guitar melodies and rhythms. Beginner difficulty levels are designed for non-guitar players and hard difficulties will challenge experienced guitarists. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is Nintendo's latest incarnation in the popular Super Smash Bros. series of titles, featuring all-new characters ranging from Kirby and Wario to Samus and even Metal Gear Solid's Snake.

Firaxis' Sid Meier, known for titles such as Civilization and Pirates, revealed that he "would certainly like to play around with a MMO concept in future" and that he is "in the very early stages of exploring the possibilities of it." Firaxis is currently working on Civilization Revolution for consoles, Sid Meier indicated it was not for the immediate future, "I really can't say if that would be the next game we do or if it's still a couple of games down the road before we come to that," but it would certainly be a PC title, since "PC is still the best place to play a MMO."

Last week, it was revealed through a customer complaint that EA's Burnout Paradise requires a hard drive in order to play online, thus making that impossible with an Xbox 360 Core/Arcade. Oddly enough, this missing feature was never revealed, and now Criterion issued a statement in an attempt to justify the decision.

Pendulo Studios is working on a follow-up to last year's hit title Runaway: A Road Adventure, an adventure game with 3D characters with a cartoon look and high-impact visual features that include 2D and 3D in an unmatchable style. Soon making its debut on the NDS, it seems South Peak Interactive is bringing Pendulo's adventure game to the Wii.

Belief & Betrayal is an adventure game where you investigate a murder and get involved in a dangerous church conspiracy, which has its roots through the centuries in the time when Judas got 30 silver coins for his betrayal of Jesus Christ. The title was delayed late last year, but Lighthouse has announced the new North American release date.
