Veteran video game music composer Richard Joseph was in a class of his own. In the industry since the 80s he was a pioneer on the C-64/Amiga and credited for being the first to use true voice acting in his compositions. Earlier this year Richard Joseph was diagnosed with lung cancer, and whilst receiving chemotherapy he slipped into a coma after which his weakened body sadly gave up the fight. Richard died on the afternoon of March 4th, 2007.

Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade sold through approximately 3.5 million copies within one month following its mid-January launch. This includes more than 1.9 million sold in regions that play on North American realms, 1.6 million in Europe, totalling WoW's worldwide subscriber base to more than 8.5 million users.

EA announced today it has signed on to publish Harmonix's next title, in cooperation with MTV. Oddly enough the announcement did not reveal any details as to what sort of title, its name, platform, nor an estimated release time. Harmonix is of course known for developing the Guitar Hero, and Karaoke Revolution franchise and promises that its next title will take all they have learned from past projects to the next level.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 borrows various elements from Monster Hunter 2 on the PS2. The handheld sequel will feature ad hoc and online multiplayer, as well as new weapons and new locations such as snow-covered landscapes. MHF 2 has shipped over one million copies since its Japanese launch a little over a week ago on Feb. 22, accounting for 39% of all games sold during the week of its release.
