At a fall Gaming Session press event in France, Ubisoft presented its lineup of upcoming titles. The usual suspects were all present, such as Ghost Recon 3, Prince of Persia, King Kong, and so forth, but the real interesting part was when producer Michel Ancel announced that the new installment in the Rayman franchise is making a comeback, which we already hinted at several months ago. While the teaser video did not reveal much information, it showed Rayman being called back from some tropical/vacation resort. No specific were given, but it is expected end of 2006, and most likely on current and next-gen consoles.

While the existence of Rayman 4 is not really a big secret (it was alluded to a year ago), more details have emerged today as a Ubisoft forum administrator confirmed that Rayman 4 has been in the works since Rayman 3 was released in 2003. The administrator says we will surely see Globox again, and maybe an alliance between Rayman's former enemies, as none have really been "killed." He promises more details later on, but for now we have to settle for the fact that it will be released "before 2007." If you speak French, head over over to
the RaymanZone forum.
