Ubi Soft Entertainment announced today that it has acquired all developing and publishing rights related to the Nightmare Creatures 3, Angel of Darkness (working title) video game as well as the Nightmare Creatures trademark. As a result, the development for Nightmare Creatures 3, started by Kalisto Entertainment, is now being handled by Ubi Soft. The game is slated for release on the latest generation of consoles in 2004.

Microsoft Game Studios today announced that Impossible Creatures has gone gold and is scheduled to ship to stores in North America on January 7... After a limited-scale stress test, Relic Entertainment has now opened the multiplayer test of their imminent 3D real-time strategy game Impossible Creatures for everyone. This test version offers the tutorial, a skirmish mode, animal combiner and online play, along with 14 of the 51 creatures from the full game. Note that the test contains the EZ Pad digital rights management software (which will no longer be present in the final game, of course), and DirectX 8.2 (thanks 3DGamers). If you're itching to create the most unique armies ever found in a real-time strategy (RTS) game then download the Impossible Creatures trial version and play through three single-player missions, a tutorial and two "player vs. CPU" maps. The Sigma Combiner is also included, enabling you to create your own army of fearsome creatures that are generated by mixing and matching the various parts of two different animals. Fourteen animals are included in the trial version, while 50 different animals will be available in the retail product (thanks HomeLAN).
