In January 2006 CBS' 60 Minutes will air a feature segment covering Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel and the international explosion of professional video gaming. The episode began filming one year ago at a gaming event in Sweden, and concludes with the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) World Finals in New York City, with many stops in between. It also includes an interview with Fatal1ty at his home and training center in Kansas City, Missouri in preparation for this program.

Earlier this year,
Ubisoft's 2005-2006 release schedule made mention that Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell was going to be making an appearance on the PSP. While there still has not been an official announcement rumors are floating around that it may be called Splinter Cell : Essentials, and that name might indicate some sort of compilation instead of an all new product. Either way, the PSP will most likely includes wifi multiplayer, which is always a welcome addition.

Expected spring 2006 in Japan, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is situated in 1598 and will have several new features and additions over previous titles, such as a new camera system, updated graphics and optimized gameplay mechanics. While no specific info, or announcement, Capcom did reveal that Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is scheduled for released in North America on March 14, in Europe on March 17, and if all of that is too long, you can always import it from Japan on January 26, 2006.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will have to shop around for an X360 console this holiday season just like everybody else. "The Ballmer children do not have their Xbox 360 yet. I'm in the same boat as many of you," Ballmer said. "Thanks to the wonders of Sarbanes-Oxley, management does not get a free Xbox 360," he quipped at a meeting of technology industry executives. Sarbanes-Oxley means Microsoft would have to classify a free game console as income for Ballmer.
