Developer and publisher Paradox Interactive announced today that their next strategy release, Diplomacy for the PC platform, will be shipping to stores in the US and Scandinavia on October 4, 2005. UK, France, Germany and the Benelux countries are to follow on October 28.

THQ today announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Winter Assault has reached the gold master stage of development, is entering manufacturing, and is scheduled for retail September 19, 2005.

Relic announced that on Thursday 8th September it will launch a new patch for Dawn of War through the auto-updater in the game. Early August Blizzard revealed it was closing is Blizzard North development studio, and today Castaway Entertainment announced that former Blizzard North studio lead Rick Seis has accepted the position of Technical Director and lead programmer for their current unannounced project.

While Viacom's Sumner Redstone continues to accumulate shares of Midway Games, a lot of investors have been betting that he won't keep it up and that Midway's high-flying price will come crashing down. The stock has risen from less than $3 a share two years ago to $15 this month, while Midway is losing money, and its shares on a price-to-sales basis are selling for 50% to 10 times as much as other vidgame publishers, some of whom are making plenty of money.
