PlayStation2 system owners eager to see what all the excitement is about won't have to wait anymore, as Ubi Soft Entertainment announced today that the popular squad-based combat game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon for the PlayStation 2 has shipped and will arrive on store shelves shortly.

Ghost Recon lets the player lead an elite team of U.S. Army Special Forces through the deadly realism of tomorrow's battlefields. Outnumbered and outgunned, this Green Beret team, nicknamed "the Ghosts," uses the latest technology and tactics to conquer the battlefield, swiftly, silently and invisibly. Today we serve up a new trailer from Ghost Recon Playstation2 version, showing off some in game cinematics and gameplay footage.

Lead a team of 6 elite special force soldiers through the deadly realism of tommorows battlefields. Outnumbered and outgunned, this Green Beret team, nicknamed "the Ghosts" uses the latest technology and tactics to conquer the battlefield, swiftly, silently and invisibly. Often hired by the UN for international peacekeeping operations, your specialty is covert military strikes. Developed at Ubi Soft studios including Red Storm, the console adaptations are much more than ports of the original game.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, the PC Game of the Year for 2001, will bring its renowned gameplay and multiplayer capabilities to the Xbox online experience. Ubi Soft will launch Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft simultaneously with the launch of Xbox Live, the online console gaming service, in Q4 2002. Ubisoft just informed us that they have released a new update patch for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. This patch is compatible with the original Ghost Recon as well as the new addon Desert Siege. The patch will upgrade your current version to 1.2.10.0! You do NOT need to have update patch 1 installed prior to upgrading to the new version. Be aware that your version will no longer be compatible with Ghost Recon version 1.0.0.2 (sales version) and with version 1.1.1.5 (update 1).
