We got swept away to a secret press event last night, although it wasn't hard to figure out we'd be seeing Killzone 3. Stay tuned for some hands-on impressions, interviews and new assets. Plenty to look forward to ...
As for the "Prince of Persia" movie screening on Tuesday night, it's the best video game movie so far. That might sound like a backhanded compliment, but it's not. The film had really high production value, lots of action, and a few references to the video game series (though we also saw some crossover with Assassin's Creed). The creative and complicated fight sequences were good and changed things up to keep you guessing. There's an overly long sequence near the end that kills the flow of the movie, but overall, we liked it and would recommend it.
Our blank E3 schedule has been made, and now it's time to fill it up with dozens of appointments Let the scheduling nightmare begin!

Watched another episode of
The Pacific, which was thankfully action-packed for the second straight week. It's already the seventh episode (out of 10), and I'm just getting to know the characters. I'm quite the war buff, but the past three episodes have been set on the island of Peleliu (present-day Palau), and I've never even heard of the battle. Visceral battlefield sequences, though! Next week's episode is finally going to focus on Iwo Jima, so I'm looking forward to that one ....
We're supposed to go to a ballgame tonight, but after a weekend of lovely weather, it's going to come down in buckets. I'm all for hot dogs, beer and bleacher seats, but you can count me out if it's going to rain.

There are plenty of press junkets going on these days: earlier this week, last night, and a few things next week, including a trip to Las Vegas to check out UFC Undisputed 2010. Then, of course, there will be the run-up to E3 with a slew of pre-E3 events during the weeks prior to kick-off.
Last night, we watched Supernatural and the latest episode of The Pacific, which was thankfully action-packed from start to finish.

We went to see Green Zone last night, an Iraq war-based drama with Matt "Jason Bourne" Damon, and I must say that I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's not exactly a war movie; it deals more with some behind-the-scenes politics and ideals, similar to The Hurt Locker. Most people were lined up in droves for Alice in Wonderland, but our movie still drew a full theater ....
We slept in late today and have no big plans, apart from watching some DVR, getting the car cleaned out and running a few small errands in Chinatown. All in all, a relaxing Sunday, just the way we like it.

Oh my, that nap sure was longer than we anticipated. We were (trying to) watch
Running Out Of Time, and not 10 minutes later, it was lights out. Bet that was a snore-fest right there ....
We don't have much else planned this weekend — the usual errands, including picking up a new iPod so we don't have to listen to the radio in the car, especially morning radio, which hardly plays any music at all. No movies are opening that we want to go see, either. We're waiting for Green Zone next week, so we'll just have to hunker down and watch Netflix and the DVR. Life is tough. :)

Yesterday, we went to the Chinese New Year Parade, and by golly, it didn't rain for the first time in years. The parade itself was kind of a mixed bag; while it was fun to watch, it wasn't really anything too exciting, either. There were too many commercial floats for all sorts of casinos, insurance companies, McDonald's and the like. Of course most of the fun was to be had afterward, during dinner and after a few beers.
Later today, we might go check out
Inglourious Basterds, which is available on DVD, but due to the long wait on Netflix, we have yet to see, and the local theater is having an encore showing in preparation for the Oscars.

Once again, our plan to watch some TV was foiled. Our neighbor came over to chitchat and left three hours later. We hadn't even had dinner at that point, so there no more time to be couch potatoes. Luckily, only NCIS and The Good Wife were on tonight, so we'll have to squeeze them in over the weekend. Cancel all plans!

Hello World!
The weekend is over, so are you ready for another week of gaming goodness? I know I'm not! :)
We had good intentions yesterday, fully prepared to get some exercise, enjoy the good weather and make a run around the lake, but we got a sudden unexpected case of the lazies. Instead, we watched a Bones episode we missed earlier in the season and How I Met Your Mother. Apart from that, our weekend was filled with gaming (CrimeCraft and Zuma's Revenge) and napping. It was awesome. :)
