Atari today announced it has signed a publishing agrreement with Bandai to bring the NDS exclusive Tamagotchi Connexion Corner Shop to Europe. In the game, players open speciality shops, and develop their businesses by serving customers needs through mini games that utilise the Nintendo DS touch-screen functionality.

Atari today posted a wider quarterly loss, as sales fell 44 percent mainly due to it releasing fewer titles amid a transition to new video game console technology. Net loss for the quarter was $25.2M, compared to a net loss of $16.9M at this time last year. Atari And Rising Star Sign Distribution Agreement

Atari and Rising Star Games today announced a deal which will see Atari distributing Rising Star's five upcoming titles. A joint venture between Japanese publisher Marvelous Interactive Inc. and long-standing Japanese Nintendo distributor Bergsala AB, Rising Star's mission is to bring the very best Japanese titles to PAL territories worldwide.

Atari Strikes Deal with Infogrames for Humongous Entertainment

Atari Revenue Plummets, Reports Loss

Atari today announced financial results for Q1 2006, ended June 30, 2005. Net revenue was $24.2M, down from $108.1M from Q1 2005, and net loss for the quarter was $32.8M, compared to net income of $12.1M at this time last year. The revenue drop is primarily due to the success of last year's DRIV3R (PS2/Xbox) and Atari's decision to release fewer products in order to focus on producing higher quality titles. Atari announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Activision to include Pitfall! and River Raid in Atari's forthcoming Atari Flashback 2. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Atari's first home game console, PONG, Atari Flashback 2 features more than 40 classic games, including arcade classics, previously unreleased titles from the Atari vault and rare homebrew games created by fans and supporters of Atari's early console models.

With the first Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 expansion pack Soaked! only a few weeks out in stores, Atari has revealed that Frontier Developments is already working on a second expasion pack for its theme park simulator. Atari Germany has 'RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild!' scheduled for a November release, although no further details as to what the expansion pack will include are available at this point. Atari today announced that it will distribute the forthcoming addictive puzzler 'Archer MacLean's Mercury' in key territories UK, France and Germany. Published by Ignition Entertainment and developed by Awesome Studios for PSP, Mercury has been specifically designed for the new gaming PlayStation Portable, which launches across Europe in September 2005.

Atari today announced the summer launch of Atari Flashback 2.0, the follow-up to the holiday 2004 hit, the Atari Flashback Classic Game Console, which shipped more than 550,000 units to retail.
