THQ to publish exciting new games under FILA brand

THQ International Ltd, a division of THQ Inc. and Fila Holding S.p.A , a leading Italian Company in the field of footwear and apparel for sport and leisurewear, today announced a two-year deal giving THQ the worldwide rights to publish videogames under the Fila brand on all console systems manufactures by Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft.
The first two titles announced as part of the deal are Fila Decathlon, a track and field event-based athletics game for Nintendo Game Boy™ Advance, and Fila World Tour Tennis, a highly detailed tennis game featuring the excitement and precision of the real sport, for the Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft.

Tim Walsh, Senior Vice President of International Publishing, THQ, commented, “Sports games are amongst the most popular genres, and Fila is one of the most recognised brands across the world for sports apparel. The Fila moniker will add authenticity and help broaden the appeal and credibility of our stunning sports games to a wider audience.”

The forthcoming Fila games will be promoted via an aggressive worldwide marketing and PR campaign. The first games are scheduled for release from early 2002. In addition to standard channels to market, games will also be available through the Fila Sport.Life store and also through the portal www.fila.com.

Using new technologies, the game will feature a smooth skin skeletal animation system coupled with motion-captured movement for maximum realism.
