Redline: Xtreme Air Racing 2 is the latest version of Xtreme Air Racing, which debuted in June 2002. That game was widely acclaimed for its ground-breaking graphics, exciting gameplay and realistic flight simulations. This new version - sanctioned by the Reno Air Racing Association - features 50 new aircraft (bringing the total to over 70), improved special effects, additional levels in exotic locations around the world, and the ability to have air combat during the race. Another unique feature of this version of the game is the ability for players to import their own faces to be the pilots, as well as customizing the aircraft with their own artwork.
Said Michael Bell, Encore's CEO, "Redline: Xtreme Air Racing 2 is a unique twist on a popular genre that will appeal to audiences craving new gaming experiences. As the only air-racing title on the market today, it taps into the growing popularity of extreme sports while offering the perfect medium to feel the speed, thrill and adrenaline rush of air racing."
Added Pat Hunt, CEO at Victory Simulations, "I've been passionate about flying my entire life. It is truly exciting to capture the realism of this sport and to re-create some of my flying experiences in Redline: Xtreme Air Racing 2. Encore is the perfect partner to bring this game to market because they can provide the attention, creativity and energy it deserves."
Redline: Xtreme Air Racing 2 will be available in major retail outlets nationwide this holiday season in PC CD-ROM format, and is expected to retail for approximately $30.
