According to Variety, actor Mark Wahlberg is in negotiation talks with Twentieth Century Fox to take the lead role of Max Payne for the live-action adaptation of the Remedy/Take Two video game. John Moore, known for action movies such as "Behind Enemy Lines" and "Flight of the Phoenix," has been tagged as the director. May Payne is a DEA agent framed for the murder of a fellow agent and finds himself in the middle of a mob war, giving him a chance to avenge the Mafia slayings of his wife and child.
