'Torchlight Frontiers' (ALL) Introduces The Railmaster Class, Sign Up For Next Week's Closed Alpha - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on April 18, 2019 @ 9:29 a.m. PDT

Set in the same universe as Torchlight I and II, Torchlight Frontiers is a shared-world action-RPG bringing back many of the franchise’s signature features and mechanics that captured the hearts of ARPG fans around the world.

Led by former Runic Games and Blizzard North co-founder, Max Schaefer, the team developing Torchlight Frontiers is comprised of veteran developers who were responsible for the games that defined the ARPG genre, including the original Diablo and Torchlight franchises.

Torchlight Frontiers combines the heart of the beloved Torchlight series with a shared, persistent and dynamically generated world. In true Torchlight style, players will team up with friends and devoted pets to hack and slash their way through a vibrant world, discover ancient ruins of lost civilizations and brave dungeons filled with riches and dangerous creatures.

Introducing the Railmaster – a locomotive savvy powerhouse who steams into combat with a massive hammer and heavily armed battle train. Watch the official class reveal trailer for the Railmaster to see this hard-hitting hero in action!

The debut of the newest hero class in Torchlight Frontiers marks the very first time that players will be able to assume the role of a Railmaster in a Torchlight game (Fans may remember meeting Captain Jacobi in Torchlight II, when the Imperial Railmaster provided passage between adventuring areas). Now players can experience the power of the Railmaster for themselves, as they learn to swing a colossal hammer and strategically lay track for the artillery train that follows them through the Frontiers. Those who wield the power of the Railmaster can also customize each of the train’s platforms with different features to maximize firepower against oncoming enemies.

The Railmaster will be available to those participating in Closed Alpha for Torchlight Frontiers on April 23. Torchlight fans can sign up for a chance to be invited to the ongoing closed alpha by visiting the official website.

Torchlight Frontiers will be available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
