Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is the first action-RPG game adaptation of the iconic role-playing game. Become Cahal, a banished werewolf, forced to return to the aid of his endangered clan and master the devastating Rage within him to punish all those that would pollute, destroy, and corrupt our Mother Earth, Gaïa. On his bloody quest for redemption, Cahal will play a pivotal role in the Great War of the Garou against Pentex, a powerful corporation whose activities are upsetting the balance of nature.
Cahal is a werewolf who has been exiled for several years and who has come back to his endangered tribe. Endron, the oil-producing subsidiary of the multinational Pentex, is installing an extraction site and is destroying the forest around a sanctuary. At times a wolf, at times a human, Cahal can transform into a werewolf when rage consumes him.
The World of Darkness is a gritty vision of our own time. The world's most devious conspiracies are true. The divide between the rich and the poor is huge and corruption is rife. In the shadows of our declining societies, humans fall victim to supernatural horrors, all struggling for control.
Garou (from French "Loup-garou" meaning werewolf) are Werewolf warriors opposed to urban civilization and supernatural corruption, all heading towards inevitable apocalypse.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is a violent beat'em up based on the three forms that Cahal can transform into, allowing for different approaches and varied play styles.
- Homid Form: Used for stealthily neutralising guards and hacking into your enemies' defences.
- Lupus Form: Ideal for exploration and infiltration.
- Crinos Form: Unleash your rage and sow chaos in the enemy's ranks.
You will need to alternate between these three forms to bring Endron down.
Cahal is a werewolf of the Fianna tribe. Married and father to a daughter, he suffers a tragic fate that forces him into exile. He must flee those he loves to protect them from his rage: his beloved wife, Ludmila; his daughter, Aedana, who he loves more than anyone; and his best friends Rodko and Ava, who have his back no matter what. Endron, the petroleum subsidiary for the mega corporation Pentex, is solely responsible for all his rage and violence. Having ruined his life and remaining a constant threat to Gaia, Mother Earth, Cahal is consumed by a single goal: to put an end to Endron by whatever means necessary.
The video game carries over all the main aspects of the pen-and-paper game in an unflinchingly mature universe overflowing with current topics such as the destruction of nature by man and their machines. Rage, a central element of the game, brings a subtlety to the game which requires players to learn to control it in order to make the most of it.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
