Arc System Works revealed that the release version of Guilty Gear -Strive- will use rollback netcode for online play. Please note that the rollback implementation is still being developed so the upcoming closed beta will be using a delay-based implementation.
The Open Beta for Guilty Gear -Strive- will be playable on PS4 and PS5 from February 19, 7:00pm PST/3:00 AM GMT to February 21, 7:00am PST/3:00 PM GMT.
Players who pre-order the game digitally will be able to download the Open Beta one day early on February 17th at 10:00am PST, and start playing from 7:00pm PST.
The Open Beta will let players get their hands on 13 of the game characters in order to discover, train and fight against AI controlled fighters or try their luck online against other. The Open Beta will support cross-play between PS4 and PS5.
An online platform will also be opened starting today, allowing players to register in order to have to be able to access the Open Beta on February 18, starting at 3:00 am GMT.
The registration can be made here, while the offer lasts, as the number of Open Beta early access codes is limited.
Available Modes:
- Versus – Play against the CPU or another player.
- Dojo – Tutorial and Training modes will be playable.
- Network – Play against others from across the globe.
Additional Details:
- OBT will feature 13 playable characters.
- An online connection is required to play offline modes.
- PlayStation Plus is not required to play the Open Beta online modes.
The latest chapter in the Guilty Gear franchise will finally land in the hands of fighting game fans on April 9, 2021 for the PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam) for $59.99, with the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition available on April 6, 2021.
