Create and customize your character, tailor your abilities to suit your play style and head out into a new frontier full of things to experience.

Explore the world solo or with friends. Form or join a Posse to ride with up to seven players; gather around the fire at your Camp; head out hunting or fishing; visit bustling towns; battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts; hunt for treasure; take on missions and interact with familiar characters from across the five states; or fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles; compete with other players or whole Posses in open world challenges and much more.

The frontier is a cold, unloving place, but there is solace to be found in the kindness and charity of those we find on the roadsides and rest stops of the frontier. Completing any Free Roam Mission — denoted on your map by an orange icon — over the course of the next week will earn you twice the usual XP.

Taking part in any Free Roam Event will also reward you with double XP through April 19th. Keep an eye out for invites at the top left of your screen to take part in an assortment of competitive and co-operative challenges, including King of the Castle, Fool’s Gold, Cold Dead Hands, and more.

40% Bonus RDO$/XP Payouts in Free Roam Missions for Posses

If you’re the type to roll up with a crew of like-minded brigands in tow, you’ll be pleased to learn that completing Free Roam Missions with the help of a Posse will receive an additional 40% RDO$ and XP bonus on top of the usual 10% Posse bonus.
