'Pecaminosa' La Soirée DLC Announced, Will Add New Zones, Bosses, Alt Endings and More

by Rainier on Sept. 7, 2021 @ 8:40 a.m. PDT

Pecaminosa is a pixel-art noir action/RPG you will have the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of former detective John Souza and solve all kinds of cases on the streets of Pecaminosa.

Pecaminosa is a fictitious city between Mexico and the United States, where corruption and debauchery have taken permanent residence.

The ghost of Charlie “Two Angels”, a fallen mob boss, appears before Souza with a proposition: help him capture his former associates, so he can redeem himself, and be allowed unto Heaven.
Hell, that sounds easy, right?... Maybe too easy...
Will Souza set his bottle aside and take up the mantle of justice again? Or will he be just as damned as Charlie?

The player will be able to freely explore a typical city of the 1940's with a stunning level of detail, which is particularly noticeable in the interior of the buildings, decorated with touches of vintage jazz inspired by film noir classics.

Along with being able to explore different playstyles with the LIFE System, everyone that gets to play Pecaminosa will also be able to customize the main protagonist with a significant variety of weapons and apparel, as well as enter casinos and play gamblingmini-games.

Play Blackjack to earn extra money, visit the liquor store, socialize with the scum, visit the police station and the brothel, in addition to other venues recreated with great graphic detail… and don't trust anyone. There is a bullet with your name on it, and it's eager to meet you.

The La Soirée content update for the Pecaminosa closes the main case of the game and introduces new zones, new mini-games, a new boss and several alternative endings.

If you like noir style, detective stories and, why not, ghost tales, and you're a pixel lover, Pecaminosa has all that and much more. Character evolution, several types of weaponry, melee attacks and dodges, secret areas, rewards for finishing off certain enemies, final bosses... it has it all!

John Souza has been through (literal!) hell, but he still needs to tie one loose end: find out what really happened to his old partner Brian Sullivan.

On each stone turned to find Brian, the ex-detective will find traces to a clandestine network of human organ betting, and will have to play with his heart on his sleeve to win against tyranny and the immor(t)ality of Pecaminosa’s most elite citizens.

Something very threatening hangs in Pecaminosa’s air, and it’s not syphilis. It is something sordid, tyrannical and visceral that Brian Sullivan was investigating before he vanished nad it points to the highest strata of the city’s society. Time to “discipline” the elite, find Sully and get the answers to every question unanswered.

La Soirée main features:

  • New areas and characters: There’s new places to investigate and more characters to interact with. You just have to avoid dying.
  • New minigames: on top of Blackjack, now there’s Poker and Slot Machines at casinos! Spending or winning… A simple matter of talent and perspective.
  • Boss Battles: A new, unkown and fearsome boss awaits. And he looks pretty confident...
  • Different endings: You own the story… But how you read it, will dictate its ending.
  • Epilogue: Close the case. See the whole picture. Tie up the losse ends of a surpriseing nad supernatural story that will prove to you just how weak the flesh is...
  • Two or more tries at jokes: We keep trying...

Together with the release date of the content update, we will shortly confirm the final release date for Pecaminosa on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The people behind Cereal Games don't hide their influences when creating Pecaminosa and describe their creation as a mix between Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and the imaginary of Orson Welles. The aim of their title is to provide a unique and impactful experience to the players.

Pecaminosa leans on the perspective, mechanics, and objectives of the third Legend of Zelda game and adds the tension, drama and ambience of the film noir genre, like Citizen Kane and Touch of Evil.

Key Features:

  • Unique Ambience: Film noir atmosphere with an original jazz soundtrack that will make you fall in love...
  • Mini Games: Want to take home the pot playing Blackjack? Be our guest…The tables are still hot.
  • Guns & Apparel: Customize your character's weapons and clothing, evolving them through the L.I.F.E. System..
  • Boss Battles: Let’s raise a glass or two to the good old times! Besides taking part in an intense and dashing narrative, you also get to fight against big, bad, bosses!

Pecaminosa is currently available for Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam), followed by PS4 and Xbox One at a later time.
