The open beta for Torchlight: Infinite is just around the corner (Oct. 2022), and in order to help players get a jump start on building their characters how they choose developer X.D Entertainment has given an in-depth look at the game's talent system.

Players starting out in Torchlight: Infinite will be guided to choose 1 of 6 basic talent panels to start with aimed to greatly increase their damage output early in the game. As players progress through the game, they’ll gain access to all 6 of their core talents as well as the 2nd and 3rd talent panels. After unlocking all 3 talent panels, players will have access to near infinite build styles and combinations including condition-specific mechanics.

Talents in Torchlight: Infinite are categorized into 24 panels, with each panel tagged with growth directions. Talents not only add to skills but also grow with players’ build styles bringing unique buffs and attributes in action. This provides players with an initial guide to learn corresponding talents with the same labels for an ordinary build. With everything clearly tagged layers can quickly dive back into any previous choices to revisit previous builds or reimagine them for new builds.

The core talents are of utmost importance in the talent system. They directly affectskill effects, or directly overturn a build through "destruction and reforging" with the larger effects they grant. Players can choose to modify attacks to spread to nearby enemies or change how their character dual-wields weapons.

Talents don’t just impact damage numbers, they bring impactful enhancements that players can customize to fit their different build styles and intentions. Players can use the talent system to decide how their character reacts to incoming damage. Multiple build options allow players to stack up on armor or evasion making players resistant to damage or more agile by maintaining increased movement speed allowing them to dodge attacks.

Torchlight: Infinite’s simple 3 talent panels can aspire hundreds of combinations, leading to an infinite number of talent combos. The game offers players the utmost freedom in creating unique build styles. Every player can explore and find their own style. Torchlight: Infinite will be launching its open beta on iOS and Android this October. Players can pre-register now by visiting the official site.
