Darkest Dungeon II is a challenging gothic roguelike RPG that will test your mettle and drive you to the brink of madness.

Darkest Dungeon II will test your mettle and drive you to the brink of madness.

Armor yourself with purpose and provision your party for the journey ahead. It will be arduous.

Darkest Dungeon II is a loving interpretation of the game’s signature style in 3D, with hand-drawn textures, bringing more life to the characters and amp up the fx, while preserving the classic DD combat presentation.

The basic configuration of 4 heroes/4 monsters and two trinkets per hero is still true, but there have been significant changes to the base mechanics, stats, and so on.

Red Hook Studios announced that Darkest Dungeon II will release on Xbox Series X|S on July 15th, 2024.

The launch comes alongside the Sony’s PlayStation 4 and 5 versions and the Nintendo Switch version and will include all current updates and DLC. Players can now pre-order the game in the Microsoft Store for $39.99, 38,99€, £33.74 with a launch discount of 15%.

The PC version is also currently part of the Steam Summer Sale, with 40% off the main game and the OST and 10% off the Binding Blade DLC.

In addition to the main game, the DLC “The Binding Blade” will also be available on Xbox Series X|S. Players have the option to purchase the Oblivion bundle - containing the base game and DLC - in the Microsoft Store. Key features of its update include the addition of two playable heroes, The Duelist and The Crusader, as well as the roaming mini-boss The Warlord. A major new campaign game mode, ‘Kingdoms’, will arrive as a free content update later this year. This mode challenges players in a desperate race against the clock to find and defeat a monstrous threat before it overwhelms and destroys the Kingdom.

Darkest Dungeon II is once again be narrated by Wayne June, while music is being composed by Darkest Dungeon 1's Stuart Chatwood.

Key Features:

  • Roguelike Runs, Each With Its Own Emerging Story: Each expedition lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Even an untimely end will arm you with resources that can be spent to improve your next journey.
  • Unforgettable Heroes: Uncover and experience the tragic origin stories of each hero. Unlock their full potential via new skills, paths, items, and more.
  • The Altar of Hope: Engage with a massive system of upgrades and boons that opens up new strategies for each expedition. Choose what’s important to you as you formulate your assaults on the Mountain.
  • The Affinity System: As travels progress, heroes bond with each other or develop animosity, leading to desperately needed combat synergies or journey-ending dysfunction. Manage their stress and interaction to keep the team together until the bitter end.
  • Nightmarish Environs: From the burning Sprawl to the diseased Foetor, the long road to the Mountain will challenge your strategies and your endurance. Explore five distinct regions, each with their own unique creatures and challenges.

Currently available for PC (Steam / Epic Games Store), Darkest Dungeon II is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 15, 2024.
