Not only has Capcom
acquired the MotoGP license earlier today, but it is also expanding its internal development studio by acquiring Japanese studio K2, known for Valhalla Knights and the Tenchu series. Capcom has used the services of K2 in the past, both companies are located in Osaka, and by making K2 a wholly owned subsidiary, Capcom plans to make its game development activities more efficient and speedy.

Realtime Worlds, UK developer known for Crackdown and currently working on APB (All Points Bulletin), apparently has no trouble finding extra development monies, as it previously bagged $33 million in funding, and has just
received another $50 million from Maverick Capital. Realtime Worlds is founded by David Jones, one of the original Grand Theft Auto creators and the Lemmings franchise. APB combines the open ended (online) world on GTA mixed with the combat seen in Crackdown.

Back in early 2007 New Line Cinema (now a unit of Warner Bros.) acquired the movie rights to Epic's action game Gears of War, to be adapted by Stuart Beattie and produced by Temple Hill Entertainment. During an interview with
ComingSoon Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey revealed when we can expect to see the movie in theaters, "We've got our script on and a director we're about to attach. We'll hopefully make that early next year for the summer of 2010."

Set in New York, Rockstar is bringing its open-ended crime series to the next-gen consoles with Grand Theft Auto IV, situated around mysterious protagonist Nikolai. Rockstar's Jeronimo Barrera revealed that the PS3 will also get downloadable content, according to the latest PlayStation World Magazine, but no further details were revealed. Speculations are that this will either be the same DLC material as the Xbox 360 but after the "timed" exclusivity period runs out, or something new tied in with Sony's HOME community in terms of unlockable goodies, such as outfits, posters, or invite friends to watch replays inside your HOME-theater, before you head off to some co-op fun.
