Having repeatedly said that the Wii would not be able to handle the Unreal Engine 3,
Epic VP Mark Rein revealed that one of its licensees, which he declined to identify, is currently porting the engine to Nintendo's console, similar to what Ubisoft did with the Unreal Engine 2 for its slasher, Red Steel. And we all know how well that turned out ....

Activision, RedOctane and developer Harmonix are getting
sued by rock band The Romantics over the inclusion of its hit single "What I Like About You," by cover band Wavegroup Sound, in Guitar Hero II Rocks The 80s. Reason? The Romantics claim that the performance is "virtually indistinguishable from the authentic version" and might confuse consumers as to whether the recording is an original piece.

Originally planned for the Xbox, but eventually canceled, Success is bringing its trilogy of Raiden Fighters shoot- 'em-up games to the Xbox 360. Raiden Fighters, its sequel and Raiden Fighters Jet will come bundled with a DVD featuring footage of the best Japanese players in action. It's currently only scheduled for release in Japan in 2008.

SoF Payback continues with the organization known as The Shop, with players taking on the role of a hired mercenary. Previously
banned in Australia due to excessive violence and blood, Activision has quietly submitted a revised/censored version, removing rag doll physics and enemy dismemberments, and reducing blood effects. As a result, SoF3 received a MA15+ rating and is no longer banned.
