Band Sues Activision Over 'Guitar Hero II: Rocks The 80's' (PS2) Track

Activision, RedOctane and developer Harmonix are getting sued by rock band The Romantics over the inclusion of its hit single "What I Like About You," by cover band Wavegroup Sound, in Guitar Hero II Rocks The 80s. Reason? The Romantics claim that the performance is "virtually indistinguishable from the authentic version" and might confuse consumers as to whether the recording is an original piece.

'Raiden Fighters Aces' (X360) Revealed - Screens

Originally planned for the Xbox, but eventually canceled, Success is bringing its trilogy of Raiden Fighters shoot- 'em-up games to the Xbox 360. Raiden Fighters, its sequel and Raiden Fighters Jet will come bundled with a DVD featuring footage of the best Japanese players in action. It's currently only scheduled for release in Japan in 2008.

'Soldier of Fortune Payback' (PS3/X360/PC) No Longer Banned Down Under

SoF Payback continues with the organization known as The Shop, with players taking on the role of a hired mercenary. Previously banned in Australia due to excessive violence and blood, Activision has quietly submitted a revised/censored version, removing rag doll physics and enemy dismemberments, and reducing blood effects. As a result, SoF3 received a MA15+ rating and is no longer banned.

Sinking Island is a dark detective adventure story set on a tropical paradise. At a millionaire's hotel a crime is committed, and while the island seems to be sinking for unknown reasons, you, as detective Jack Norm, have to find out who did it. Originally scheduled for release fall 2007, Microïds has delayed Sinking Island until Q1 2008.
