With R-Type Tactics developer Irem is deviating from the usual shoot'm up genre into the tactical/RPG genre, giving fans of the franchise a chance to see all the units and enemies up close and personal, in 3D, while also adding 2 player versus mode.

Earlier this week Ubisoft released a new an all-new downloadable content package (Player's Pack Black Edition) on Xbox Live, adding 5 new multiplayer maps, charging the usual rate (800 Microsoft points/$10). Shortly thereafter the download mysteriously disappeared, and today Ubisoft stated that the content was supposed to have been free, and is offering everybody a refund, although it was not specified if it was a monetary or through points.
