The rumors have been flying ever since GameInformer mentioned it, but confirmation of a next-gen Chronicles of Riddick game comes through UK industry weekly, MCV. Developed by Starbreeze, who is currently working on The Darkness, the announcement for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena will come next week. MusiquePlus Eidos France's director Patrick Melchior revealed that the freshly formed Montreal studio's "first mission" is working on a new Deus Ex game, the 3rd (not counting Deus Ex: Clan Wars which was later renamed Project: Snowblind) in the franchise since its conception in 2000. A financial analysis document from Nollenberger Capital Partners reveals that EA might already be working on The Godfather 2. "Interestingly, we learned that EA is leveraging the significant amount of development time and costs that went into The Godfather game. The open-world engine was built from the ground up for Godfather, and is now being used by five different franchises, including The Simpsons. Godfather 2 is also in development currently, though timing is unknown."
