The countdown has begun to the release of '24: The Game' on PS2. Set to become the biggest action adventure game of the year, '24: The Game' lets gamers take control and live a 'brand new day' in the life of Jack Bauer and the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU).

Digital Illusions announced today that it has signed a new contract with EA for the development of a PC game within the shooter genre. The game is based on Digital Illusions’ brand, will be developed by DICE Stockholm and is planned for a fall 2006 debut. A specific title is not yet revealed, and will be disclosed at a later date. DICE also announced that the PSP version of BF 2: Modern Combat has been put on hold due to lack of personnel, and it is not certain if and when development will continue (thanks bfnation). Various outlets and blogs have posted word that Wal-Marts all over the country have started putting up their demo kiosk and have Microsoft next-gen console up and running for customer to play. While we tried to call our local Wal-Mart, they could not confirm it was in store already, but apparently the kiosks have playable demos included for King Kong, Call of Duty 2 and Kameo. Gaming blog Joystiq.com has a list of over 50 confirmed Wal-Mart stores that have the X360 kiosk up & running.
