Majesco today announced that it has sold all of its The Darkness and GhostRider rights and obligations to a 3rd party publisher for which Majesco received $8.0 million, allowing it to reduce its financial obligations and improve its capital structure. This sale affords Majesco added flexibility with which to pursue additional opportunities and execute initiatives related to its core business. The 3rd party publisher will re-announce the titles at a later date.

EA's Armando "Aj" Marini gives more details about the upcoming Battlefield 2 v1.2 patch, and he says "this update has some significant improvements that everyone will appreciate." So far the partial fix list seems to indicate several weapon tweaks, especially making the air assets less powerful, and plugging a few exploits.

Atari has issued the first patch for the US Gold edition of Frontier Developments's theme-parl sim RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. This patch #1 fixes a framerate issue during nighttime, billboards have been added, the tunnel system found in Wild! has been added, some minor AI issues have been fixed, and a new tutorial has been included.

American Technology Research analyst Paul-Jon McNealy said he believed Microsoft had 300,000 to 400,000 units for the launch in North America, around 300,000 for the European launch and 100,000 for Japan. He expects Microsoft to ship another 300,000 units in the next week in North America, which would put the total at about 1 million units. Additional shipments would be required at month end to reach McNealy's 1.5 million to 1.8 million target.

A South Korean man has collapsed and died after playing computer games non-stop for 10 days. The 38-year-old man collapsed as he was playing an online game at an internet cafe in Incheon, west of Seoul. It's not the first time such a cause of death has been reported in South Korea. In August, a 28-year-old man died in the city of Taegu after playing an online computer game for more than two days.

Working Designs' Victor Ireland today announced that his localisation company has laid off all employees and shut its doors. Working Designs may not be known to a lot of people but they specialized in localizing Japanese RPGs for North America, such as Lunar : The Silver Star (Sega CD), Dragon Force (Saturn), Arc The Lad Collection and Growlanser Generations. Though almost finished and substantially improved, its current project Goemon has been scrubbed although it may still get released in Europe. Victor has contacted Microsoft to offer his assistance with the Japanese RPGs for the X360.
