'Sony' and 'Guerrilla' Sign Exclusive Agreement

"Midnight Nowhere" from Buka Entertainment, Tri Synergy and developed by Saturn Plus is a graphic adventure that places you in the middle of a twisted mystery where the police are nowhere close to being able to explain the slaughtered bodies that litter the streets. The epidemic of brutality has grown so large that the leaders of the city have requested the army’s help. The only thing they’ve proven good at is cordoning off the town and praying that one of theirs isn’t next.

'EA' Signs 'Gas Powered Games'

Electronic Arts today announced a worldwide publishing agreement with celebrated game designer Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games. The two companies have partnered to create a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game for the PC. The new title is slated for release in 2006. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Perception To Develop 'Stargate SG-1'

JoWooD Productions Software AG will handle worldwide publishing and marketing of videogames based on MGM Television's hit science-fiction series, "Stargate SG-1." As part of the agreement, Australian developer Perception PTY Ltd. will develop videogames based on the current TV series "Stargate SG-1," and any spin-off series such as the upcoming "Stargate: Atlantis." Perception PTY licensed the rights to develop "Stargate SG-1" videogames from MGM Interactive, a unit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc.

WW II oriented 3D RTS game Kombat changes its name. Since now according to the common decision of developer 3A Games and publisher Game Factory Interactive this project is now called "Officers". Thanks to Baskins for notifying us that there is a new but unofficial patch for Saber Interactive's FPS Will Rock. This upgrade is only meant for Will Rock versions that came bundled with Gigabyte ATI video cards and brings your game to v1.2. the initial v1.2 retail patch did not work with the Gigabyte OEM game but now fixes multiplayer compatibility with the original game, as well as several other changes.

'BF1942: BattleCraft' & 'BattleField Vietnam' - Updated Editor

Electronic Arts released the first version of the Battlecraft map editor for Digital Illusions' 3D action game Battlefield Vietnam. The editor shipped with the game but is now available as a separate download, and this initial release similarly includes a full set of Object Lightmap templates. At the same token EA has also released a new version of the Battlecraft 1942 editor v2.1 which now incorporates the Object Lightmap templates that used to be a separate download, as well as adding several dozen new features, improvements, bug fixes and other changes (thanks 3DGamers).
