Eidos Interactive announces a new brand specifically devoted to bringing high-quality Japanese video game titles to the worldwide market. 'Fresh Games' will kick-off its line-up with Mr Moskeeto, Mad Maestro!, and Legaia 2: Duel Saga, sequel to the 300,000-plus unit selling Legend of Legaia. All three games have been developed by SCEI (Sony Computer Entertainment) for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and will be available in Spring 2002.

THQ Inc. today announced the latest installment in its highly successful MX franchise. Developed by THQ subsidiary Pacific Coast Power & Light Co., the next MX game is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo Gamecube this summer followed by an Xbox video game system from Microsoft release this fall.

BioWare and Interplay have reached a settlement ending the dispute between the companies. Per the agreement, Neverwinter Nights, developed by BioWare, will be published by Infogrames worldwide subject to certain pre-existing Interplay licenses. In addition other matters have been resolved to both parties’ mutual satisfaction.

For all the CS fans out there its a known fact that cheaters are slowly but surely killing the most popular online game ever. Westwood Studios announced today that Academy Award Winner Doug Chiang, Design Director for Star Wars Episodes I and II has joined the Earth and Beyond Online team as a consultant and will be providing concept art for all of the player space ships in the game. Earth and Beyond Online is Westwood's first massively-multiplayer game and will be published under the EA GAMES brand this summer. Westwood is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Electronic Arts.

Today the Russian site KDLAB updated the official site for the upcoming real-time strategy game, Perimeter, with some new screens.. Perimeter is built on the concept of territory seizure using detailed terraforming and on the subsequent encircling of these zones with a special protective perimeter. THQ Inc. today announced Hot Wheels (working title) is in development for PlayStation2. Created by car combat game developer Beyond Games, Hot Wheels is a unique mission-based racing adventure set in a dark, futuristic world that appeals to core gamers and racing enthusiasts alike. THQ's Hot Wheels for PlayStation 2 is scheduled for release in fall 2002.
