Futuremark has discovered that Starforce installs a driver that runs at the highest level of access on the system, which gives it low level access to the PCs hardware and any drivers and processes. Several weeks back, the first hints started dropping about a possible new Battlefield game through a leaked trailer and hints in various interviews. A thread on the official PCGamer forums seems to confirm this, as several people have received their May issue stating it has a Battlefield 2142 article, as well as a trailer on its cover-mounted cd, which can be also be viewed online. Battlefield 2142 is set in the future, the world is plagued by a second Ice Age, and wars have broken out over the remaining territories. Mech Warrior-meets-Battlefield 2 is the best way to describe it, and it is scheduled for "Fall 2006."
