Court Approves Square Enix Acquisition of Eidos

On Feb. 12, 2009, the boards of Eidos and Square Enix reached an agreement on acquisition terms, and on March 27, 2009, 85% of Eidos shareholders gave their approval. Earlier today, a UK Court sanctioned the acquisition, followed by suspension of the Eidos shares on the London Stock Exchange. By tomorrow, Eidos will officially be part of Square Enix.

At last year's Comic-Con, Marvel Studios production boss Kevin Feige revealed that a new Marvel vs. Capcom installment was in the works, while last week Achievements popped up. Further confirming that 2003's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is coming to XBLA, and most likely PSN as well, is a new teaser site, counting down to next week Monday.
