The U.S. Army announced today that it has teamed with Ultimate Arena to hold the AMD America's Army: Special Forces Tournament at E3. The tournament will be run by Ultimate Arena and supported by Even Balance's PunkBuster. The final match between a team of four civilians and four active duty U.S. Army Soldiers will take place at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) trade show in Los Angeles which runs May 12-14, 2004.

The 3DO Company today announced the development of the Army Men: Air Combat “The Elite Missions” game for the Nintendo GameCube system. The Army Men: Air Combat “The Elite Missions” game follows the exploits of the heroic Captain Blade and his Alpha Wolf Squadron as they once again take to the skies in support of the Green Army in their ongoing struggle with the Tan forces. The game is planned to ship in time for Christmas 2002.

The 3DO Company today announced the development of the first Sarge’s Heroes title for the Nintendo GameCube, Army Men: Sarge’s War. The Sarge’s Heroes games were some of the most successful third-party titles for the Nintendo 64, having sold over a million units between the two games. The Army Men: Sarge’s War game is planned to ship in Spring 2003.

So i picked up 3DO's Army Men : RTS and plunged myself into the world of toy soldiers ... I used to have those little green toys by the dozens 20 years ago and loved playing with them. I actually never tried any of the previous Army Men games but since this one is a real time strategy game i had to give it a whirl ... The 3DO Company today announced that the Army Men: RTS game for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and PC shipped this week to retail stores throughout North America. The Army Men: RTS game was developed by Pandemic Studios, makers of Dark Reign 2 and Battlezone II.
