Last week the US Army already revealed that it was using the America's Army technology to develop
a new driving simulator to help wounded service members return to driving independence, but that is not the only product being worked on. According to
Stars & Stripes, the US Army will launch a games for training" program in 2010, with a budget of $50 million, to develop a new Game After Ambush, based on a commercial game, and will accommodate a limited number of players in a relatively small virtual battle space.

Microsoft and the U.S. Army announced that U.S. gamers will have a chance to prove their skills in the first ever Halo 3 Championship Tournament, hosted exclusively on Xbox Live. The U.S. Army announced today that it has teamed with Ultimate Arena to hold the AMD America's Army: Special Forces Tournament at E3. The tournament will be run by Ultimate Arena and supported by Even Balance's PunkBuster. The final match between a team of four civilians and four active duty U.S. Army Soldiers will take place at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) trade show in Los Angeles which runs May 12-14, 2004.

The 3DO Company today announced the development of the first Sarge’s Heroes title for the Nintendo GameCube, Army Men: Sarge’s War. The Sarge’s Heroes games were some of the most successful third-party titles for the Nintendo 64, having sold over a million units between the two games. The Army Men: Sarge’s War game is planned to ship in Spring 2003.

So i picked up 3DO's Army Men : RTS and plunged myself into the world of toy soldiers ... I used to have those little green toys by the dozens 20 years ago and loved playing with them. I actually never tried any of the previous Army Men games but since this one is a real time strategy game i had to give it a whirl ... Finished the campaign and the battles (aprox 25 missions in all). Check out the screens!
