In the bold and often-bloody Dead Space, gamers will step into a third-person sci-fi survival horror experience that promises to deliver the ultimate in psychological thrills and gruesome action. Last month EA Europe shocked horror fans with moving the game's release forward, and the North American release is also ahead of schedule. Last week Square Enix made a surprise, but friendly, offer to acquire Tecmo, offering the Ninja Gaiden publisher a 30% premium, a bid that would expire Sept. 4, without further attempts in case of rejection. With that deadline now expired, Tecmo issued a statement that it is indeed not going to accept Square Enix's friendly takeover bid, but is instead talking to KOEI about merging the two companies.
