Fansite Beyond Unreal has received confirmation from Midway that Epic's next UT game will officially be called Unreal Tournament 2007. Previously only known under code name Envy, Epic has stated it would skip UT2006, and the new product will be not be a continuation, or sequel, to UT2004, but instead an all new title built from scratch, using the Unreal Engine 3. UT2007 will be officially announced and shown behind closed doors at E3 2005.

Last month TimeGate Studios announced that it had licensed Epic's Unreal Engine 3, without giving further details as to its purpose. Today GameSpy revealed that the developer, mostly known for its RTS franchises, is working on a FPS using Epic's latest engine. Section 8 is a futuristic first person shooter that brings strategy and tactics to the genre in a game where players can modify the battlefield on the fly. In Section 8 you are part of an elite infantry squad with a penchant for taking on suicide missions that no one else will tackle. No release date or publisher has been announced yet.

Digital Extremes barely shipped Pariah to retail stores earlier this week, and word is already out of a sequel being under development. In an interview with Canadian gaming mag Wham! Konami has revealed its newest NIS-style simulation RPG, Twelve : Sengoku Fûshinden, coming to the PSP and scheduled for a summer release in Japan. Writen by Kawakami Minoru and character design by Naruse Chisato, Twelve : Sengoku Fûshinden is about 12 allied characters protected by 12 spirits, representing the 12 signs of the chinese zodiac, while your enemies are based off famous generals and historical people. Earlier today a game listing was spotted on Gamestop revealing an expansion pack for Rome: Total War, scheduled for October 17, 2005. PC Zone UK confirms this rumor as they are running a preview in their current issue. Here is a snip : "The expansion pack's called Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion and is set well after Rome: Total War spanning the years 364AD to 476AD. You can play as one of the Barbarian factions (including the Vandals, Saxons and Huns) and take revenge against the Roman Empire, or as the Western and Eastern Roman empires attempting to drive back the Barbarians.
