EA Europe announced today that will co-publish Namco's Ridge Racer 6 for Xbox 360 in PAL territories. Ridge Racer 6 on X360 comes packed with more than 130 cars and 30 circuits, the most courses in any of the series so far! Only a few weeks ago we reported the sad news that Myst developer Cyan Worlds had to let go of all of its employees and was about to shut down. San Jose Mercury writer Dean Takahashi received word from Rand Miller, "We've had a reprieve. Managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat (that I can't give details about yet), so we rehired almost everybody." GameSpot further confirms this with a comment from Miller, "We have managed to step back from the brink--after stepping off. There's not that much to say yet."

Banpresto announced today that it is co-developing Magna Carta 2 with Korean studio SoftMax, its second title for the Xbox 360, tentatively scheduled for 2007. Magna Carta was originally released on PC in 2002, recently ported to PS2 and scheduled to be released in North America (Atlus) & Europe (Codemasters) later this year, with another PSP edition announced only days ago. Magna Carta is a fantasy RPG in which you play the role of Calintz, the leader of an elite military unit, the Tears of Blood, who vows revenge on those who destroyed his land.

Valve's SteamPowered website has been updated with details regarding the latest update for its online delivery system Steam. This release includes a number of very specific CPU and memory footprint optimizations brought over from the Half-Life 2: XBOX development codebase. The release also includes all of the engine groundwork to enable the Day of Defeat: Source launch that will happen Monday, September 26 at 3:00 PDT. Just restart Steam for the effects to take place.
