Blizzard Entertainment today announced that its eagerly awaited massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft will be in stores in North America on November 23, 2004. World of Warcraft will launch simultaneously in Australia and New Zealand, and is planned for release in Korea, Europe, and other countries throughout Asia shortly following.

THQ has released its financial figures for its fiscal second quarter 2005 although sales were a little less than same period last year, they came in better than expected mainly due to strong sales from titles like Dawn Of War, Full Spectrium Warrior and WWE Day of Reckoning. Most interesting though is the announcement of Full Spectrum Warrior coming to PS2 (expected March 2005) and slight delay of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl from Q1 2005 to May 2005, and Pandemic's Destroy All Humans from Q1 2005 to April 2005. THQ also opened a new development studio in San Diego by the name of Concrete Games.

Gearbox President Randy Pitchfork always claimed there would be multiple games in the Brothers In Arms franchise, it is still a surprise that a sequel is already in the works months before the original is released. At a European press event C&VG learned from Gearbox's military adviser Colonel John Antal that part of the Euro press tour was also being used as research for BIA 2. "We're working on the sequel," Colonel John Antal said and also added "We're going to follow Sgt. Matt Baker through World War II, I think people are going to want to hear his story." Operation Market Garden or Battle of The Bulge are being considered for the the sequel.

Today Activision released its quarterly financial statement and apart from doing quite well (sales & revenue are up, WAY up), driven by strong sales from Doom 3, Spider-Man 2, Rome: Total War, Tony Hawk 2, X-Men Legends, Call Of Duty etc. In the following investors conference call Activision revealed that the eagerly awaited Xbox edition of Doom 3, as well as the fresly announced expandion pack for the PC, are expected in the first quarter of 2005 which means between January, March 2005.
