Activision, Inc. has signed a deal with Roadrunner Records' multi-platinum-selling artist, Slipknot, for the MTX: Mototrax videogame, which will be available in retail stores nationwide on March 3, 2004. Funcom was recently awarded a grant from the Norwegian Film Fund to partially finance the development of Dreamfall, the long-awaited follow-up to The Longest Journey. The Norwegian government has, for the first time, actively endorsed game development, marking a welcome shift in the cultural acceptance of computer games as a medium comparable to film and television.

With the demise of 3DO a while ago the future of the Geroes Of Might & Magic was uncertain until Ubisoft outbid other publishers a few months later. With the additional closing of long time developer New World Computing, it has been very quiet on the who and when we can expect the next installment (which would mean the fith episode). Heroic Corner claims to have received confirmation from 2 independent sources that Silent Storm & Etherlords developer Nival Interactive might be the chosen one. Since most of Nival Interactive's titles have been strategy based it might very well be possible that they have been tagged by Ubisoft to work on 'Heroes of Might & Magic 5' (

Russian developer Burut has announced that they started working on the "GoldenLand :Cold Heaven" localization (means translating for non-Russian distribution). While the original game is not even available in English speaking territory, the addon has already gone gold in Russia and is expected to appear in stores soon. Microsoft Corp. said on Thursday that parts of the source code, or software blueprint, for its closely-guarded Windows programs had leaked onto the Internet, possibly exposing its products to hackers and illicit copying. Oxygen Interactive have signed leading racing-sim developer Brain In a Jar (previously known for Codemasters' Indy Car Series.) to develop an original Rally simulation. Due for completion in Q3, the game will be on the shelves ahead of Rally GB in September, on PS2 and PC.
