At last year's Comic-Con, Marvel Studios production boss Kevin Feige revealed that a new Marvel vs. Capcom installment was in the works, while last week Achievements popped up. Further confirming that 2003's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is coming to XBLA, and most likely PSN as well, is a new teaser site, counting down to next week Monday.

During a panel discussion at Comic-Con, Marvel Studios production boss Kevin Feige was asked whether fans might see a new installment in the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise, and he replied, "Yes, and maybe sooner than you think." No further details were revealed, but that confirmation on its own will surely please fans who haven't had a title in the 2-D fighter series since 2003's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the Xbox.

Marvelous Entertainment USA and XSEED Games announced its E3 plans and lineup of games for the NDS, Wii and PSP, which includes titles like Rune Factory: Frontier, Little King's Story, Valhalla Knights 2, Populous DS and more...

THQ and Marvel Entertainment announced that they have entered into an exclusive multi-year licensing agreement to create video games based on the burgeoning, kid-friendly Marvel Super Hero Squad franchise.

Briefly mentioned in the latest Activison financial conference call earlier this year, no official announcement has been issued yet, however at last weekend's comic-con an Activision rep revealed that MUA 2 is being pushed from a, non-confirmed, tentative fall 2008 release until 2009. Probably done to give its freshly unveiled Spider-man game a bit more breathing room.

Late last year the rumor starting floating around, but it has now been confirmed, Cryptic Studios Marvel Universe Online MMO has been canceled. In a recent interview with MTV's multiplayer game blog, Microsoft's Shane Kim made it official, "Marvel and we have agreed to end development on the MMO. It was an amicable decision…"

At Comic-con 2007 EA Chicago, known for the Fight Night/Def Jam series, had revealed that it was developing a new superhero fighting game franchise using the Marvel license, but when the studio was shut down a few months later, EA said the status of the project was still being determined. Today the verdict came in: EA officially canceled the project, while terminating its license agreement with Marvel according to GameTap.
