Electronic Arts today announced plans to release this Spring The Sims Vacation, a new add-on disk to the top-selling PC game of 2000 & 2001, The Sims. The Sims and their families have been in overdrive with all the bustle of the holidays and the magic of Livin' Large, the parties of House Party and the social obligations of Hot Date.

The Sims: Vacation will be the fourth expansion to The Sims. This new expansion will let players take their sims to a number of different locations, including a beach, a mountain setting, and a wilderness camping area. Maxis has confirmed that they are working on a new expansion for The Sims, but did not confirm any details. A spokesperson said an official announcement would be made next week.

Now, Electronic Arts Inc., the Redwood City, Calif., developer of The Sims and a predecessor game, SimCity, is moving The Sims to the Web.
