Majesco today confirmed that BloodRayne 2 has gone gold and is on schedule for release October 12. Majesco is supporting the launch of BloodRayne 2 with a multi-million dollar marketing campaign that includes extensive cross-promotions with MTV, targeted TV and print advertising and a consumer pre-sell initiative.

Michelle Rodriguez, Matt Davis and Michael Madsen have each been cast in the new film, BloodRayne, based on the popular video game of the same name, joining the previously announced Sir Ben Kingsley and "Terminator 3" star Kristanna Loken. BloodRayne is written by Guinevere Turner ("American Psycho") and will be directed by Uwe Boll.

Vierte Boll Kino Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG (Boll KG), the production company responsible for several film adaptations of video games including Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead, has purchased the theatrical film and merchandise rights for the game.

The sequel to Terminal Reality's horror-action game of 2002 will apparently be published by Activision, not the original game's Majesco.
