In a move that surely will please a lot of gamers, JoWooD's community manager Johann Ertl announced that Piranha Bytes' RPG Gothic 3 will not feature the oft criticized Starforce copy protection, but instead have a more user-friendly, though not yet specified, protection scheme.

Jowood President Dr. Albert Seidl revealed that it has received a multimillion dollar offer from a North American publisher to bring Gothic III to the Xbox. No specifications were given, nor did Dr. Siedl clarify whether it was for the current and next gen platform, but given the technical requirements, it is doubtful the current gen Xbox could handle it, so the X360 platform seems much more likely.
