JoWooD decided to take the next step and advance to the current generation of consoles as it intends to publish the group's most successful brands ion 2008/2009 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

JoWooD Productions announces the conclusion of a further co-oublishing agreement with Koch Media. Due to the successful cooperation during the production of titles like Gothic 3, The Guild 2 and SpellForce 2, the stage for an ongoing partnership has been set.

JoWooD announced a new distribution partnership with Pinnacle Software who will distribute a number of their titles in the UK, starting with the ski simulation Ski Alpine Racing 2007, the extreme sports game Freak Out: Extreme Freeride and the counter terrorist shooter on The Mark.

JoWooD launches a new casual line, G-Stars, stands for quality at affordable prices, easy handling and instant feelings of achievements during gaming, combined with moderate system requirements. "G-Stars" will release about 9 to 12 games each year with a strong focus on PC, PS2 and NDS in a unique distribution network.

JoWooD announces that it has entered into an agreement to acquire publisher DreamCatcher, providing JoWooD with direct access to every major retailer of PC and video games in North America. We contacted DreamCatcher several days ago for comment, but have yet to receive a reply.

JoWooD Productions announces the Line-Up for 2006 which will be presented at E3 in Los Angeles. JoWooD is focusing especially on two titles: Gothic 3 and The Guild 2 which will be released in the second part of the year. Additionally to these highlights, three new JowooD Products will celebrate their premiere, said to be JoWooD's first episodic content game Dogs of War, the Panzer Elite Action standalone addon Shifting Dunes and presumable the next chapter in the Spellforce franchise.

JoWooD and developer Piranha Bytes have narrowed down the Gothic III launch dates, scheduled for release in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in September, while UK, and the rest of Europe, has a more ambiguous Q3 2006 launch date. Previously listed as Q1 2006 by US publisher Aspyr, it looks like Gothic III has been pushed back.

JoWooD's fifth year attending E3 will see them feature their most diverse range of products to date which will include the unique and breath-taking RPG and RTS hybrid Spellforce - Order of the Dawn and the revolutionary online military tactical shooter, Söldner: Secret Wars. The popular AquaNox franchise will also be shown debuting on Playstation 2 in the form of AquaNox 2: Revelation. Aspyr Media today announced it has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with JoWooD to publish four of JoWooD's award-winning compilation PC titles in North America. This is the first time North American players will be able to purchase SpellForce Platinum, Gothic II Gold, Silent Storm Gold, and The Guild Gold in the U.S. and Canada.

Quazal announced today that JoWooD has chosen Quazal's online multiplayer middleware Rendez-Vous technology as the basis for three of their upcoming online games, SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars, The Guild 2 and Panzer Elite Action.

JoWooD is apparently not doing too well financially, as today it was revealed to us that the Austrian publisher is closing down two of its development studios. One of our Jowood sources confirmed that earlier this week, it was decided that Transport Giant house Studio Ebensee and Söldner's Wings Simulations will be shutting down in the next few months. Both studios will finish up current projects and then will have a small core team still in place for future patch releases and customer support. Wing Simulations will finish its current Soldner: Marine Corps addon, which is still scheduled for March, but the previously announced Söldner 2 project has been cancelled.

JoWooD announces a strategic alliance with the US developer/publisher Fluent Entertainment. The partnership shall include the acquisition of a non-controlling stake in JoWooD by Fluent, and the co-publishing of the other partner’s product portfolios by both partners. The long-term objective of the partnership with Fluent is to improve JoWooD’s presence in the strategically important US-market and to improve the sales potential for JoWooD’s proven product portfolio.

JoWooD's Preliminary Financial Results discloses several, so far unannounced, plans for various addons and sequels to, some currently still in development, new titles. The schedule includes another derivative of the highly successful Gothic series as well as Add-ons for the titles SpellForce, Soldner and Wildlife Park. The portfolio will also include a new sequel to the top-selling Giant series and console versions of Aquanox and Neighbours from Hell (incl.a sequel). Some further titles will be Pillage, Gorky Zero and a title based on a motion picture IP. JoWooD boasts an impressive line-up for 2005. Among 2005’s key titles will be Soldner II, SpellForce II, The Guild II, Star Gate SG1, another Giant title and a new sequel to the Gothic series.

JoWooD Productions Software AG has completed it’s turnaround following difficulties during the business year 2002. The positive result for 2003 confirms the company’s successful restructuring and repositioning The preliminary EBIT increased to EUR 7 million (2002: EUR –42.8 million). The preliminary group result after minorities increased to EUR 3.7 million (2002: EUR –28.6 million). JoWooD has, thus, managed to achieve a sustainable profitability increase through a successful strategic and structural reorganization of the company.

JoWooD and Independent Arts announced today that Against Rome is finished and ready for production. Set in Europe at the time of the migration of nations (about 200-450 AD), Against Rome takes the player to that part of the continent that has not yet succumbed to the Roman Empire. This vast territory, which the Romans disparagingly called barbaricum, is the home of numerous primitive nations. The player takes control over one of these barbarian tribes, who as a whole stood out for a pronounced lack of cultural achievements, combined with a ferocious belligerence. Skirmishes, raids and plunderings were the order of the day for these barbarians and are, therefore, the great theme of this game.

Encore today announced that it has expanded its co-publishing agreement with JoWooD Productions Software AG, an Austrian game publisher and developer. Under this new agreement, Encore will manage the sales, distribution and marketing exclusively in North America for over a dozen new PC games, a back catalog of an additional two dozen PC titles, and a handful of console games. Bigben Interactive today announces it has become the publisher for the JoWood range in both the UK and Scandinavian territories with immediate effect. The deal is part of an agreement that sees the Bigben Interactive Group publishing the JoWood range across Europe. Bigben Interactive UK will be responsible for all forthcoming titles such as, Chaser, Silent Storm, Söldner: Secret Wars and Spellforce: The Order of the Dawn in addition to the entire back catalogue, budget range and OEM opportunities.

JoWooD Productions today announced its line up of ground breaking titles that will be on display at the 2003 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) at the Los Angeles Convention Center between May 14 - 16th.
