Funcom announces a special spring campaign for the multi award-winning MMORPG Anarchy Online. New players can now download and buy the Classic Edition of Anarchy Online for just 4.95 USD/EUR. It includes an updated version of Anarchy Online as well as 30 days of game time.

Shadowlands has launched successfully! Tens of thousands of players have flocked to the intriguing new world in the award-winning universe of Anarchy Online. Shadowlands redefines the standard of Massively Multiplayer expansion packs, offering a spell-binding new setting, unique graphics and audio and lots of fresh challenges for both new and existing players. The launch of the expansion went exceptionally smooth, and the initial feedback has been very positive.

Funcom announced today that the release date of Anarchy Online: Shadowlands has been pushed back from August 26th to September 9th. "With Shadowlands, we are literally adding a whole new dimension to our game," explained Funcom CEO, Trond Aas. "The scope of the project is huge, and we have found that we need a couple of more weeks of testing and balancing before launching the expansion." While fans will have to wait another two weeks for the expansion, Trond Aas is certain it will be worth the wait. "I'm convinced everyone will see the sense in our decision. The extra wait will be long forgotten once they start exploring the marvelous world of Shadowlands." Odd how a game that was announced GOLD can magically get delayed, eventhough its only for a few weeks.

Showcased at last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Shadowlands is the upcoming expansion pack for Funcom's award-winning massively multiplayer online game, Anarchy Online. Shadowlands provides the traditional elements of an expansion pack such as new playfields, weapons, monsters and items, but with many exciting twists and turns. It's an ancient realm rediscovered, with different rules and technology, and landscapes of both intense beauty and immense horror.

The Anarchy Online Website has details on a free seven day trial they are offering for the Notum Wars add-on, as well as Anarchy Online, the MMORPG it expands. "Through the free trial offer, gamers can play both Anarchy Online and The Notum Wars with no charge for 7 days. At the end of the trial period, the player can then keep the game and the account with a purchase price of $19.95 for the game. The remainder of the first 30-day period will be available for play before the first subscription fee is charged. Players can access the features of both Anarchy Online and The Notum Wars for a recurring subscription fee of $12.95 every 30 days." (thanks Blues)

Today Funcom released an action-packed video of Anarchy Online Notum Wars, in-game footage as well as the second article about towers from Game Director Gaute Godager. Booster Pack is additional game-play and add-ons which is: 1. too big in megabytes to patch and 2. too small in content for an expansion pack. Today marks one year since Funcom launched its award winning massively multiplayer online game, Anarchy Online. With over 150,000 registered users to date and the U.S. PC Gamer award for best MMOG, Funcom is pleased with the success of the game. "We want to thank all of our players for helping Anarchy Online evolve into the game it is today," Funcom president Andre Backen said. "Customer feedback has been vital to our success and we are confident that our players will see their input even more in our upcoming additions."

Anarchy Online: Shadowlands is the new expansion pack currently in development to compliment Anarchy Online, Funcom's award-winning massively multiplayer online game. Shadowlands is currently planned for a 4th quarter 2002 release and will contain many new areas to explore, profession specialisation, additional breed variations, higher quality armour and item options, improved graphic effects, and much more.

After winning the Best Massively Multiplayer Online Game award from PC Gamer magazine for its game, Anarchy Online, Funcom announces the release of a special retail edition shipping to stores on May 15, 2002. Good news for German online gamers: Funcom and the German gamigo AG are going to open a dimension of Anarchy Online for German gamers. This cooperation is a further step towards improving the accessibility of Anarchy Online in Germany.

On October 31st 2001, Anarchy Online will bring a new dimension to online gaming with weekly episodes tying a dynamic story with new and evolving game content. The launch of the first story episode of the highly successful MMORPG will bring new players into the persistent Universe and provide existing players with a whole new experience.
