Mount & Blade is a single-player, third- or first-person action/role-playing game with a focus on medieval combat. Developed by the Turkish development house TaleWorlds Entertainment, the BETA version of the game has received acclaim worldwide by gamers impressed by everything from the realistic horseback combat to the sandbox gameplay. The latter enables players to roam the map freely in a medieval world that offers options ranging from hunting down bandits, trading for profit in the game's deep economical system and becoming a commander and taking part in the wars ultimately becoming a great lord of the realm.

You had a game that could have potentially given you indie cred faster than NIS America and Atlus' 2009 lineups combined, and you ended up passing on it. You even said that it was going to be awesome in a released statement after dropping it. Man, that's a strange move on your part.

Blade Dancer is a new Japanese 3D RPG, under development over at Sony, situated on a mysterious island, and has you play as a young hero Shane. While details are still slim, the game will have a crafting system where you can combine items to create your own unique objects, as well as a 4 player lan and online multiplayer. Scheduled for release March 2006, no European or US date, if at all, has been announced yet.

Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu revealed that Sony is working on a new RPG for the PSP. While details are still limited, Blade Dancer is scheduled for release in Japan March 2, 2006 and will allow 4 players to participate simultaniously. A European or North American released date is not being mentioned, but a lack of Japanese RPGs should entice the corresponding Sony territories to pay attention. A cinematic movie can be viewed on

The PS3 title list we published on Friday mentioned that Koei was working on an all new unnamed, action title for the PS3. Merely a day later the first details emerge and Bladestorm is revealed. Under development at Omega Force, known for the Dynasty Warriors series, Bladestorm will offer massive battles mixed with strategy, much like the DW titles, but one of the main differences is that the game will be situated in the Western medieval timeframe.

Activision today announced that the company has signed an agreement with SOE to publish Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade for PSP in all territories excluding U.S., Canada and Japan, as well as those areas serviced by SCEA. Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is the only multiplayer action role-playing game currently available for the PSP.
