Namco and Todd McFarlane Productions announced today the official name of Mammon, a character known by many "Spawn" enthusiasts for his mysterious appearances in numerous past comic book episodes. Until today, Mammon has been portrayed as a background character that appeared in dark, hidden shadows. Mammon is now slated to take on a much more proactive, even major, role in both the upcoming video game as well as in future episodes of the "Spawn" comic book series, with appearances beginning in issue 133. The video game, "Spawn: Armageddon," is scheduled to release in November 2003 on the PS2, GameCube and Xbox.

Midway Games announced today that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has shipped as a Greatest Hits title for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and a Platinum Hits title for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. A Player's Choice title for the Nintendo GameCube will be available on October 27.

Namco announced today the launch of the
official Web site for I-Ninja, the popular new action adventure game scheduled for release on PS2, Xbox and GameCube in Q4 2003. The Web site provides a wealth of information, including the latest news, detailed game information, screenshots and a short movie of game play footage. The diehard I-Ninja follower will feast on the latest online toys, including wallpaper designs, instant message icons, message board avatars and a soon-unveiled desktop communicator. Additionally, an online message board allows I-Ninja fans to discuss the upcoming release and participate in “Sensei’s Dojo,” a forum dedicated to the creation of new Ninja principles.

At the Tokyo Game Show in Japan today, Konami of America Inc., announced that Suikoden IV, the newest installment in the popular role-playing game (RPG) series, will be released in the U.S. for PS2 in Fall 2004. Hailed as one of the greatest RPGs ever made, the series is renowned for its depth of gameplay, immersive storytelling and expansive fantasy world. The Suikoden series first appeared seven years ago on the PlayStation, followed by Suikoden II in 1999. Last year, Konami released the critically acclaimed Suikoden III for PS2.
