Act of War: Direct Action, developed by Eugen Systems, is Atari new action game with a storyline and game universe created in cooperation with Dale Brown, 15-time New York Times best-selling author and expert on US military, global conflict and future military technology.

Eugen Systems' general director and vice chairman Alexis le Dressay revealed in an interview with C&VG that they have plans to build the Act of War into a franchise and Eugen systems is "saving some really cool stuff for the expansion packs and the sequel!"

Drawing on the knowledge of one of the most highly decorated general officers ever to serve in the US Army, Atari announced that it has retained General Barry McCaffrey, USA (Ret.) to offer his feedback and direction on Act of War: Direct Action, a real-time military strategy game for the PC.

Atari have teamed up yet again with music team Nimrod for Act of War: Direct Action. Following Nimrod’s Driv3r soundtrack they were challenged to create a techno-thriller score suitable for Act of War that rivalled the impact of the great Hollywood film scores of the same genre. Atari has updated its Act of War: Direct Action website with a countdown timer ticking down towards the release of the public Act of War demo. A quick calculation points out that the release date would be January 13, 2005 and if you are really impatient you can go ahead and sign up to get an email notification as soon as the demo is available (thanks Blues). Atari today unveiled details behind the upcoming near-future, geopolitical techno-thriller Act of War: Direct Action for PC. Developed by Eugen Systems and with a storyline and game universe created in cooperation with Dale Brown, 15-time New York Times best-selling author and expert on US military, global conflict and future military technology, Act of War: Direct Action is scheduled to be released in Spring 2005.

Activision, Inc. announced today that the company has exercised its option to acquire the remaining 70% of outstanding common stock in Infinity Ward, the developer of Activision's highly anticipated PC game for the holiday season, Call of Duty.

7FX tossed up a new 94MB patch #02 for Team Factor. It will upgrade the European game to the version 1.1. This is a multilingual patch, however, the Russian and Italian language will be added next week due to translation delay. They also offers a Team Factor Linux server software 32.9MB that includes dedicated server option also for LAN (this option was not available in their default Win server software). Take me there!

For those of you who downloaded the latest demo and can't find on-line servers any more, here's a small fix. To apply it, just replace the file data/net.cfg found in the Team Factor installation folder. Then you'll be able to play on-line again. And if you fear to do this "dirty stuff" with overwriting files in folders you didn't create, just use the latest Patch 1.06. Its only disadvantage is that it's slightly bigger. You can download the Team Factor Linux server software. Includes dedicated server option also for LAN (this option was not available in our default Win server software)
