Atari have teamed up yet again with music team Nimrod for Act of War: Direct Action. Following Nimrod’s Driv3r soundtrack they were challenged to create a techno-thriller score suitable for Act of War that rivalled the impact of the great Hollywood film scores of the same genre. Cutscenes in Direct War are being done by a Hollywood company Beyond FX using real actors, sets and explosions. Read more for details ..

Atari has updated its
Act of War: Direct Action website with a countdown timer ticking down towards the release of the public Act of War demo. A quick calculation points out that the release date would be January 13, 2005 and if you are really impatient you can go ahead and sign up to get an email notification as soon as the demo is available (

7FX tossed up a new 94MB patch #02 for Team Factor. It will upgrade the European game to the version 1.1. This is a multilingual patch, however, the Russian and Italian language will be added next week due to translation delay. They also offers a Team Factor Linux server software 32.9MB that includes dedicated server option also for LAN (this option was not available in their default Win server software).

For those of you who downloaded the latest demo and can't find on-line servers any more,
here's a small fix. To apply it, just replace the file data/net.cfg found in the Team Factor installation folder. Then you'll be able to play on-line again. And if you fear to do this "dirty stuff" with overwriting files in folders you didn't create, just use the latest Patch 1.06. Its only disadvantage is that it's slightly bigger. You can download
the Team Factor Linux server software. Includes dedicated server option also for LAN (this option was not available in our default Win server software)
