According to the last NPD market results Nintendo Wii was the best-selling next-gen video game console in the United States in February, selling 335,000 units, compared to 127,000 PS3s, and 228,000 Xbox 360s. Oddly enough the PS3 ended up last amongst current as well as last gen consoles, even outsold by its own 7-year old PS2 and the GBA. Software sales increase a whopping 53 %, ruled by Microsoft's Crackdown with over 400k units.

Sony Computer Entertainment America and Ziff Davis Game Group announced today the companies have mutually agreed to discontinue production on the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine (OPM) in North America, January 2007 being its final issue.

Sony will likely launch its new PlayStation Portable hand-held game console in North America and Europe in March, a top executive said on Wednesday. Sony has previously only said it will start selling the PSP, which can also play movies and music, in Europe and North America between January and March.

already revealed last week ambitious French publisher L.S.P. is looking towards 2004 with great anticipation. Two titles: kill.switch and Pac-Man World 2 from games legend NAMCO, are due for release on the PC in early 2004. L.S.P. will also be announcing further titles in the near future. Both games are published by L.S.P. Across Europe and through HIP Games in North America.

Six years after the United States Postal Service (USPS) sued the makers of the notorious videogame POSTAL and its ultra-controversial sequel, POSTAL 2, game developer Running With Scissors has been informed by the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board of the U.S. Department of Commerce that the USPS's opposition case had been dismissed with prejudice.
