As promised Sony has rolled out the v2.30 PS3 system software update, not only revamping the Playstation Store, but also adding DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio. Some new content has also been added: SEGA Superstars Tennis demo, Super Stardust HD Solo Add-on Pack ($4.99), Lair Dragons and Control Pack (free). Later this week Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available and the Metal Gear Solid Online beta will launch.

The Dualshock 3 wireless controller will be available at North American retailers beginning this week for $54.99. As promised, SCEA has rolled out the v2.20 PS3 firmware update, adding Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0 or BD-LIVE, enabling PS3 owners to experience interactive features (such as downloadable video content, ringtones, games, etc...), the ability to copy photo and music playlists from PS3 to PSP, and many other new features.

After numerous complains from people experiencing problems with the v2.0 firmware update, Sony has released a new v2.1 edition of its PS3 system software improving not only stability of the system, but also PS3 and PS2 titles, and the Internet browser. There was also a problem with unintended power on through the Remote Start feature, which let you turn on the PS3 remotely using the PSP, which has now been disabled.

Tripwire has released the summer update for its WWII online action game Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45. The free update adds a new map Krivoi Rog (including the Panzer IV G tank), adaptive bloom system, in-game AA/AF tweaking, and the usual bug fixes and tweaks.
