Last week we reported that Infinity Ward had a major announcement coming this Saturday, April 28. Activision just confirmed that it is indeed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and it will be unveiled during the NFL Draft on ESPN, 10AM PDT / 1PM EDT.

Activision has periodically been releasing new downloadable content for its WWII based FPS Call of Duty 3 multiplayer. Earlier there was a Valor Map Pack with five new close-quarters action multiplayer maps, and while details are sketchy, a soon-to-be-released Bravo Map Pack is adding more multiplayer mayhem to the package.

An Infinity Ward community representative has put up a somewhat
vague message update on the forums listing several major events that occured on April 28th throughout history, indicating a major announcement might be coming next week Saturday. Rumor immediatly spread that Infinity Ward may be revealing the first details about Call of Duty 4.

Earlier this month Activision released 5 all-new Call of Duty 3 multiplayer maps for online, split-screen, and System Link play. Unfortunately the Valor Map Pack (800 Points) wasn't working & pulled shortly thereafter. Treyarch has now fixed whatever issues it had, while at the same time also releasing a patch which remedies key issues regarding Ranked Lobbies and Ranked Matches that some users have experienced.

As promised, Activision has released Champs, a new, free, infantry-based multiplayer map for its WWII based FPS Call of Duty 3. The map’s compact design, based on war-torn French farm town Port Royal des Champs, is perfect for small and medium-sized team games in online, split-screen, and System Link play, or crank up the intensity with 24-player mayhem. Only available for Xbox Live Gold members at the moment.
