Activision dropped us a note to inform everybody that they have signed an agreement with Even Balance to incorporate their Punkbuster in Call OF Duty. "We know concerns about cheating are a big issue in the fan community right now, so we wanted to pass along the following update: Infinity Ward has signed a deal with Even Balance to include PunkBuster for Call of Duty. As more information, including timing, develops on releasing PB support for Call of Duty, we'll let you know. Thanks!"

Activision sent over a small notice in regard to the anticipated Call Of Duty patch. According to the PR department "We wanted to let you all know that we're listening to your questions about the Call of Duty patch. I've spoken to the team and thought it might help to let you know that updates are definitely coming. Infinity Ward is working now to complete the first update meant to address several issues like bunny hopping, etc.. We also know that you're very concerned about cheat protection. The guys at Infinity Ward are currently considering the best way to address cheat protection. The guys are working really hard and as soon as I have more info, I'll pass it along."

Activision has released a 'Viewmodels' tools for all you Call of Duty modelers ou there.This tool will allow you to export models and animations from Infinity Ward's WWII FPS Call Of Duty. As was promised, Activision has released the Mod/Editing tools for Infinity Ward's WWII FPS Call of Duty. A few weeks ago there was a leaked & then re-called (aahhhnold!) linux server, but they now also released the final version of that, including the required library and some minor docs. The editor includes the CoDRadiant level editor & tools, the Dawnville sample map, etc. A Call Of Duty retail game is required for both applications. Read more for details & download links ...

In a move that becomes more popular day by day, Activision has re-launched
the official website for their WWII FPS Call Of Duty. The site features screens, trailer, the previously released demo (
of course also available on our fileservers), game overview and some more goodies. Call of Duty is expected to appear on store shelves in November for PC, and the console versions are scheduled for 2004.

Further immersing gamers into its gritty, first-person war-torn thriller Call of Duty, Activision, Inc. has enlisted Jason Statham and Giovanni Ribisi to provide their trademark voice talent in key roles. Additionally, accomplished writer/producer Michael Schiffer ("Crimson Tide, "Colors," "Lean of Me," "The Four Feathers" and "The Peacemaker") has added his screenwriting stamp to the game's action-filled script.
