Ever since SCi, Eidos' parent company, revealed that it was in "early/preliminary" talks with several interested parties regarding a possible takeover, rumors have been plentiful. When David Zucker became Midway's CEO in 2003, there were negotiations but nothing came of it, and
a few months back Ubisoft stated it was no longer interested.
Industry insiders now claim SCi and Midway may have picked up where they left off, but neither party gave any comment.
Contra 4 takes place two years after the events of Contra III: The Alien Wars. After saving earth from invasion by Red Falcon, Bill Rizer and Lance Bean are confronted with a new extraterrestrial menace: the terrifying Black Viper. While the Consumer Electronics Show doesn't start until next week (Jan. 7 - 10 in Las Vegas), Sony has already put up its
CES 2008 website showing off its latest electronic products, including the PS3 and PSP. While details are still limited, the PSP section of the site does reveal a possible new feature to be unveiled at the show, support for Skype's free online voice chat/phone service. Sony recently brought a microphone on the market for the PSP, so adding Skype support through a firmware update is likely.
